Standing Strong

Though pole be bent

and hope is gone

the flag is there still standing strong.

When sky Is gray

and battle roars

the stars stay bright, the stripes stay bold.

A gun fires

a bomb blasts

the flag stands and lasts.

A soldier passes

looks up and salutes

the flag waves back, knowing what he’s been through.
