your visit and come back to visit again soon...</marquee> </p> <p> </p> <p>The March Hare's Rabbitry is owned by <a href="mailto:rgupton@ev1.net">Russ</a>, <a href="mailto:tsupton@ev1.net">Tonya</a>, Kathrine and Emma Upton in Spring, Texas, just north of Houston.  We breed Californian and Castor Mini-Rex.   Our rabbitry name reflects the purchase of our first Californian rabbits, two bucks and two does, in March 2002.</p> <p>The Californians were acquired for a 4-H project of Kate's.  Her 4-H group has a very active rabbit group and we had considered getting into them prior to her joining so we took the plunge.  At the first show she actually entered (Giddings), her two junior does took first and second in that group and the first place doe went on to win best of breed.  We did not expect nearly this much success this early, but hopefully it means that our stock will go on to produce good animals for several generations.  Giving credit where it is due, our Californians all come from the line of Tracy Richards via Whitney Vine and Jamie Duke.  Meat pens  from this line have been very successful the last few years in our area.</p> <p>At that first Giddings show, Tonya decided to jump into Mini-Rex.  She was looking for some of the Chinchilla variety, but only a few were present and no one was selling them.  She found three of the Castor variety that seemed OK and she simply fell in love with and bought them.  We hope to make them the foundation of some nice show animals and pets.</p> <p>We are just getting the rabbitry up and running, and presently do not have any
