Duke's X4
Bud was one of the original Cals we acquired in March 2002. One of his ears had been chewed on, so he was given to us. Since then, his ear has grown out so that you can hardly tell he was ever chewed on. He has even done fairly well on the show table with 2nd - 4th places since then. Bud produced the 18th place meat pen at the Houston Livestock show in 2003. Kate wants to keep him, as his disposition, and productivity record speak highly of him. As you can plainly see by the line above his tail he is no longer showable due to smut, but he seems quite happy to stay home, and continue his "family." See the adventures of Bud on the "News" page
We lost Bud on the 14th of August 2005. We suspect he broke his back during a mid-day thunderstorm. He will be missed greatly, as he was not only our foundation, but our official door greeter. He continues that job as he was laid to rest just outside the rabbitry door. He has left a wonderful legacy in greater than 50% of his offspring were "keepers". His prodigy have gone on to produce quality stock for other breeders as well. We still have grandsons in our barn continuing his line. He will be remembered forever.
